Feeling vulnerable

Who do I think I am to put on a women’s retreat?
It’s not that I’m not scared and feeling vulnerable thinking no one is going to come and play with me.  But I do it anyway.
I want to try something.  Do something that’s out of my comfort zone.  I want to show up for life.
Every day I pray that more women will sign up for the St. George retreat…that they will feel it’s FOR them and something that will pump up their spirit and enrich their soul.

This is my ministry…. even if no one salutes it.

Another phase of life..

Do you see it?
Is it a headband?
No it’s a pair of reading glasses used as a headband!

I have now officially become that lady who wears glasses like a headband on her head every day because without those reading glasses I can’t see.

I don’t know when I got so blind but I do remember the very moment my eyes turned. I was 47, at a young women’s activity and some girl asked me to thread a needle and I couldn’t see the thread - couldn’t see the hole— the day before I was sewing at my house and I saw the needle and the hole just fine. I just started laughing and I thought this is it!!

So it’s been the last eight years but really just the last year that I have come to wearing readers on my head every day —- so I can read my phone, so I can read ingredients at the store, so I can make out prices, so I can read my computer screen, so I can read a recipe— it’s just crazy. I guess it’s just one more step in my earthly existence.

I should look forward to these steps by now I’ve had enough of them........getting my drivers license, getting married, graduating from college,  having babies, being a grandma ...so I guess it’s just the evolution of life —wearing glasses on my head. It’s what I do.

Regrets? Live Free

1. Say I love you often, freely and without fear. No other words matter quite as much and you can never over-speak them.
2. Turn failures into stepping stones. It’s far scarier to never have tried in the first place.
3. Accept yourself for who you are and realise we are all flawed and equally wonderfully so.
4. Refrain from judging others and also yourself. Life is easy for no one.
5. Let go more quickly, each day spent holding onto a grudge is a day wasted.
6. Speak your truths, with kindness but also with strength. Swallowing emotion is bad for your health in so many ways.
7. Take chances, risks even… what if you fall? Oh my dear but what if you fly?
8. Take things less seriously, if it won’t matter in 5 years do not give it 5 minutes of your peace.
9. If you dare to dream it, dare to do it. Life is an adventure waiting on you to simply show up.
10.  Live for what makes your heart sing, love those who build you up and ignore those who bring you down.

Lastly, not believing in yourself is a human’s biggest barrier in this life. Whatever it is that you think you cannot do remember that someone else has already done it, somewhere at some time – so why not you?

Pass It On…the time is now.
